Do you offer online courses?
Milcom is renowned for its emphasis on hands-on experience and practical application and to provide quality and compliant training, our courses conduct the practical component face-to-face. Milcom’s blended learning provides learners with the option to complete the course theory component online via Milcom LMS (Learning Management Sytem)
Do you offer weekend or evening classes?
Milcom do offer weekend classes at all facilities.
Milcom only offer evening classes for group bookings subject to a minimum of 6 students.

How long does it take to receive my cerficate after course completion?
Certificates are issued via email and are generally issued within 24 hours of class completion, however we do ask you to allow up to 3 business days from the day after your class ends.
How do i apply for my Open Registration cabling licence?
After undertaking the Open Registration (ACMA) training course, you must contact a cabling registrar (eg: TITAB, ARCS) and complete the registration process to obtain your license. There is a fee to obtain your license however this is nothing to do with Milcom Institute.
You will be required to submit the following allowing your application form to your nominated cabling registrar:
360 hours of work experience with evidence of one of the following:
- A statutory declaration detailing your experience; or
- An experience statement signed by a Registered Cabler; or
- A copy of your Electrical Licence
- A copy of the Official Statement of attainment issued by an RTO
- OHS/WHS requirement
- This process will be explained by the trainer in class.
Are there any pre-requisites for courses?
Specific courses (such as Open Registration, Skill 12 etc) include pre-requisite units which are required to be completed prior to other specific units being completed; these units are generally included in the course and will be completed by learners prior to the corresponding unit to be completed. Please refer to course information which will state if there is a pre-requisite unit required.
What if i have already completed a unit included in a course?
If a course includes a unit of competency in which you have already completed, either at Milcom or another insitute, a credit transfer (CT) may be able to be issued upon confirmation from a statement of attainment or a copy of a USI transcript stating the corresponding unit of competency; the unit may not need to be completed again. What is NBN Enable and how do i become accredited?

Milcom offers training courses that meet nbn™ enAble™ Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and technical skills accreditation requirements.
What Is the nbn™ enAble™ Card?
enAble™ is the accreditation portal for all workers involved in the construction, activation, operation, and maintenance of the nbn™ network. The enAble™ system:
– Records worker skills and competencies
– Hosts mandatory online training modules
– Provides current accreditation and compliance information
– Workers must be accredited through enAble™ to perform work on the nbn™ network.
How Do I Become Accredited?
To obtain nbn™ enAble™ accreditation, workers must complete the following steps:
1. Register online via the enAble™ website
2. Complete all mandatory online training
3. Attain relevant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) accreditations
4.Attain required technical skills accreditations (where applicable)
5. Achieve fully accredited status

How Can I Achieve Technical Skills Accreditation?
Milcom is an nbn™-approved training provider and offers a range of training courses aligned with specific nbn™ work activities, including:
– Copper Linesworker
– Copper Jointer
– HFC Technician

At Milcom, payments are accepted via one of the following methods:

Do you offer Payment Plans?
Milcom requires full payment of course fees prior to the commencement of training. However, if you are experiencing financial difficulty, we encourage you to contact Milcom’s administration team for a confidential discussion to explore how we may be able to assist.
How do i check if i am eligible for funding?
As each state has different eligibility criteria, we ask you to call 1300 369 320 or 0420 757 216 to speak to one of our student coordinator’s to check your eligibility.

How do i access the course resources?
Upon booking into your chosen course, course resources will become available in your student portal.
If you a new Milcom student: an email will be sent to you with how to log into your student portal.

Who do i contact if i need support?
If you require support at any time—whether related to your course or your mental health—Milcom provides access to a dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing Support person who is available to assist you. We encourage all learners to reach out whenever support is needed.
